Hair has been established by four of Ely’s most respected hair professionals: Hayley Williams, Melanie Ensell, Simon Taylor and Jodie Davies.
THE SALON
Hair is a luxury state-of-the-art salon boasting Air Massage Chairs and full air conditioning. From the moment our clients walk through the door we want to offer a more relaxing and luxurious service. What better way is there to begin your treatment than with a massage?
At Hair the team intend to indulge you whilst you receive a service second to none. Our clients have priority status with their stylist at all times. We use the worldwide renowned Aveda within the salon and retail the full range of products, ensuring you can take care of your hair at home as well as we do in the salon.
OUR SERVICES
The Hair team can meet all your hairdressing requirements. Professionally educated, the stylists offer technical expertise in all aspects of hairdressing and treatments including Cutting and Styling, Colouring, Perming, Hair Straightening and Hair-Up’s including packages for prom and bridal hair.
We offer a free consultation.
All colouring services require a skin sensitivity test at least 48hrs prior to your appointment. Please allow 24 hours to cancel or reschedule an appointment or full payment will be required.
The stylists at Hair are freelance hairdressers and have their own prices. Please contact the salon or stylist for individual pricing.

Simon has 40 years’ hairdressing experience with a successful track record of owning salons in Ely and he has built a solid reputation within the hairdressing industry. “It’s an absolute pleasure working in such a creative and exciting profession.”
Simon is a master of his craft, proficient in all aspects of hairdressing, from cutting to transformative restyles. His passion lies in the creative process of working with clients to achieve their desired look and style. Bringing a wealth of experience and creativity, with Simon's expertise and dedication clients can trust in his ability to bring their hair dreams to life.
Hayley Williams
Freelance Hairdresser
With 30 years’ experience, Hayley is skilled in all aspects of hairdressing and barbering and she is especially passionate about cutting and colouring. "I love the creativity involved in hairdressing, cuts are now more diverse than ever before, and it’s great to help a client to achieve a new look. Balayage with baby-lights is currently one of my favourite colouring techniques as it gives such personalised results. I’m always keen to work with naturally curly hair too; lots of clients struggle with natural curls, but with the right cut and advice for styling it really can be great hair to have."
Customer care has always been key to Hayley, who has a loyal client base, many of whom have been with her since the start of her hairdressing career. “My aim is to provide a professional, friendly and relaxing service. With fashions and techniques continually evolving, it is a privilege to work within a dynamic industry and to deliver on-trend results."
Melanie Ensell

Melanie began her hairdressing career 30 years ago and has been driven to perfect her skills ever since, creating new styles but also maintaining existing styles for her clients whilst providing a customer-focused service.
"Every client’s needs and preferences are individual to their own style and physical attributes. I pride myself on being able to identify how to adapt a chosen style to suit the individual." This attention to detail and her understanding of her clients’ hair has enabled Melanie to build an incredibly loyal client base which spans 25 years for some of her customers.
"I believe that self-image is imperative to our well-being and that other’s perception is important to us all. If you look good, you feel good and are confident within yourself. Every day my clients leave feeling rejuvenated and uplifted through having had their hair coloured, cut or styled and I am proud to achieve this continued level of customer satisfaction."
Jodie Davis

Jodie, an esteemed hairdresser with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Jodie is an expert in hair and has a particular passion for colour work and making the client’s vision a reality. "Hairdressing has been a passion of mine from a young age and I feel very fortunate to have grown my career with many wonderful loyal clients. It is important to listen to each client’s vision and adapt this for manageability to their lifestyle."
Her expertise and skillset ensure that she delivers exceptional results across a variety of styles and techniques. Jodie possesses a keen eye for detail and creativity and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service. "In the salon, I strive to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for my clients. Building strong relationships with them is important to me, ensuring that they feel comfortable and valued during their time with me. I believe that the connection between a stylist and a client is crucial in creating the best possible experience."

Hannah Warton

Hannah began her hairdressing career 11 years ago. She is a young, modern stylist with an eye for detail and a passion for creating hair that leaves her clients feeling fantastic. Hannah has a wealth of experience, particularly in colouring and cutting. She uses her knowledge of different hair types and textures to adapt her technique creating a tailored service for each client.
“I love to see the impact of a great cut or colour on a client’s confidence. I strive to ensure my clients feel well cared for, heard, and trust that they are in very confident hands.” Hannah has built a wonderful clientele which ranges from children right through to senior citizens, putting each of her clients at ease with her genuine and caring nature.

Yassmin Angier

Yassmin has worked alongside Hayley and Melanie for 18 years, using her clients' hair as her canvas. Passionate about all things colour, from intricate techniques to bold simplicity, she excels in both cutting and colouring, ensuring that each style is as creative as her last. Her expertise ranges from highlights to tints, gradual bobs to bangs and elegant hair-ups for weddings or the red carpet. With extensive experience Yassmin has mastered her craft and the knowledge that accompanies it.
"I strive to create effortlessly classic looks that suit my clients' lifestyles, leaving them feeling confident and flawless after every salon visit. Whether it's a subtle colour touch-up or a complete transformation, I enjoy revitalising hair with precision and care. Lily Winters
Hairdressing Apprentice
Meet our fabulous Lily who has achieved so much in the first year of her apprenticeship.
Her passion for hairdressing shines through in her technical ability and she is excelling in college with her theory knowledge. She has spent this last year mastering colour theory and techniques and will soon be moving on to her cutting training. We are so excited watching her transformation into the fantastic stylist she is already becoming.
“I’m excited to continue my apprenticeship at Hair with everyone who has been there with me during my time hairdressing, from when I was Saturday girl through to now continuing with my apprenticeship.”
